When people think of prepping, most likely they think of people with ‘tin foil hats’ getting ready for some end of the world Mad Max dystopian scenario. The truth about prepping is it’s not about preparing for some ‘Black Swan’ event, but instead preparing for normal, real life challenges that we are all going to face at some point in our lives – the kind of situations that will feel like the end of your world if you’re not prepared.
In my following series of articles I will discuss several of the many different scenarios which can occur that everyone should be ready for. I will outline reasons and discuss solutions to these. I will also provide reviews for products I use and recommend along with links for other informational sites for further education.
Survivalism is a primarily American movement of individuals or groups (called survivalists or preppers) who are actively preparing for emergencies, including possible disruptions in social or political order, on scales from local to international. Survivalists often acquire emergency medical and self-defense training, stockpile food and water, prepare to become self-sufficient, and build structures (e.g., survival retreats or underground shelters) that may help them survive a catastrophe.
